During halftime of the Homecoming game, the SGA Homecoming Committee will award the Spirit Cup to the student group that receives the most points during Homecoming for the Crimson division. The Committee will also honor teams of students who exemplify the spirit of Homecoming while participating in individual events throughout the week through our Tide division.

Spirit Cup Points

Spirit Cup points will be awarded for each of the following events: Registering online at http://sga.tix.com/, Roll Tide Run, Service Project Participation, Paint the Town Red, Bowling Tournament, Basketball Tournament, Dodgeball Tournament, Choreography Competition, Lawn Decorations, and the Homecoming Parade. Points will be awarded for participation as well as placing in each event. Individual awards will be given for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

Scoring for both the Crimson and Tide Division will be based off judging rubrics, which will be provided at the mandatory meeting. Point values found on this webpage will stand as official in any dispute of points allocated or an discrepancies in total possible.

Infraction Questions and Reporting

For any questions regarding the rules or to report a rule infraction, please email the Director of Rules and Regulations, Haley Loflin, at uahomecomingrules@gmail.com. In order for an infraction to be investigated, concrete proof must be submitted. Photos or some other form of support of your claim are required as proof. Submissions that are found to have been fabricated will be penalized. The penalties are as follows:

1st Rule Infraction: 50 points
2nd Rule Infraction: 100 points
3rd + Rule Infraction: 150 points

Disregard Penalty:  150 points

Penalty for leaving posters or any debris at events: 5 points per poster/decoration/prop/team identifying item
