Homecoming is a time of celebration for everyone associated with The Capstone. As partners in our community, there are several ways that you can connect to the UA Homecoming Spirit and experience!
With Homecoming a little over a month away, it is time to begin registering for events and activities. The Homecoming Executive Committee has worked hard to make the registering process simple and accessible to all students.
Identical to last year, the Homecoming Executive Committee offers two Homecoming divisions: the Crimson Division and the Tide Division.
The Crimson Division is open to any student organization at the University of Alabama. Any UA Student is welcome to join the Tide Division, even if you are not a member of a student organization or if you prefer to compete with a specific group of friends.
Homecoming is a time of celebration for everyone at The Capstone. As a faculty/staff member or UA department, there are several ways that you can connect to the Homecoming Spirit.
We encourage departments to participate in the Roll Tide Run as teams or have members of your office decorate a Habitat For Humanity Bird House for the Bird House Competition and Silent Auction. In addition to participating in these fun events, we encourage faculty and staff to experience the Homecoming Parade or Step Show and Choreography Contest with family and loved ones.
This year’s homecoming game is set for Oct. 1, 2016 against the Kentucky Wildcats! We would love for alumni and community members to join us as we embark on beating the Wildcats! Signature events for alumni and community members include the Roll Tide Run, the Choreography Competition, the Pep Rally and Bonfire, as well as the Step Show. To cap off a week of celebration, Saturday will begin with the Annual Homecoming Parade, which will feature the Grand Marshall, the Million Dollar Band, Big Al, and more! This event will begin in downtown Tuscaloosa, where it will end at the iconic Quad.
We would love to have your participation in these storied and timeless UA traditions! If you are an alumnus, please visit Alumni Affairs for more details.
Are you a local business or school who would like to participate in the Homecoming Experience at The University of Alabama? The Habitat For Humanity Bird House Build is a great opportunity to showcase your local business, school, or individual classroom. In addition, businesses and schools can register to participate in the Homecoming Parade as a float, car, walking group, or band/performance group.
In the spirit of connecting the UA campus to the Tuscaloosa/Northport community, we invite your business or school to partake in Paint The Town Red. Student organizations who are vying for the Crimson Cup or Tide Division bragging rights are assigned to paint Homecoming Theme related murals on local business windows. For your participation, you are provided with recognition as a Homecoming week participant and receive free window cleaning after the event. If you want to show your UA pride, then participate in this great opportunity to showcase student art!
