The UA Homecoming Board is a student-run group responsible for the planning, promoting, and execution of campus-wide activities and events, as well as student-targeted programming annually held as a part of the University of Alabama Homecoming experience. This group shall also oversee rules and regulations of The Official Red Book- rules and regulations of UA Homecoming Competition activities for students.

The UA Homecoming Board is overseen by The UA Homecoming Steering and Advisory Committee. If you are interested in serving as a student liaison on the Steering and Advisory Committee, please fill out the application, which can be found on the Committee’s page (note: the student liaisons on the Steering & Advisory Committee are completely separate from the UA Homecoming Board described here).

The membership of the UA Homecoming Board shall annually consist of one student Executive Director and 20-25 Student Director/Assistant Director roles who are selected through an open application process and interview committee made up of select members of the UA Homecoming Steering & Advisory Committee. An additional 100+ students shall make up the committee membership and have an opportunity to apply and be drafted in a specific committee area. All committee applicants will be placed on at least one committee.

The term of service for each position is roughly a 10-month appointment. A student board member should expect to serve from the spring prior to homecoming through at least the end of the fall semester during which Homecoming activities take place. (ex.- February 2022 – December 2022)

Director and Assistant Director positions require commitment to training sessions and a retreat in spring, as well as regular meetings and planning sessions in the Fall. Applicants should have strong organizational skills, teamwork abilities, and fresh ideas to make UA Homecoming a meaningful experience for both current, future, and past students alike!

Past activities and areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to, the following: Communications (Print, Graphic Design, and Social Media), Halftime & Reception, Development, Operations & Logistics Support, Community Service, Athletic Events, Special Events, Choreography & Dance Programs, Campus Outreach, Athletic Events, Marketing and PR, Lawn Decorations, Rules and Regulations, Finance, Step Show (NPHC Events), and Athletic Events.

For consideration, candidates will need to complete the online application, which is found under the position descriptions below. No previous experience is required. Executive Director & Director/Assistant Director positions require an interview. Candidates for Executive Director positions are strongly encouraged to have prior homecoming experience.
